Reliable, Flicker Free, Warm Dim Led Lighting

by Stone Glidden

By now it’s not news to anyone that LED lighting is the go to solution for homeowners looking to update their home’s lighting in a fashion that reduces energy consumption, and saves money.

All good, right? Maybe not...

Anyone who has wholesale swapped their incandescent lights for LED has likely stumbled on one or all of the following pain points:

LED Lighting Fixtures

  • Problems with dimming – a lot of LED bulbs claim to be dimmable, but actually, start flickering or turning on and off when you reach a certain dim level – truly maddening. The reason is that LEDs were never designed to be dimmed, and there is no industry standard for dimming that LED manufacturers have to adhere to. So you’re kind of rolling the dice when a bulb claims to be dimmable
  • A difference in the quality of light – most LED fixtures have a brighter, bluer color tint than the incandescent lamps we grew up with. Even LED lamps that say they are warmer don’t quite match the old lamps for the quality of color, and they don’t get warmer as you dim, which is what we love about incandescent bulbs

DMF lighting, a California based firm, is tackling these issues head on with their affordable “dim to warm” modular downlighting series that provides smooth, flicker free dimming from top to bottom with no dropouts or fluttering. When you want full intensity light the DMF modules will provide a 3000 Kelvin color temperature, making for a clear, clean light source. As you dim, the temperature will smoothly transition down to 1800 degrees as you approach 1 %, providing a warm, soft light appropriate for the afternoon and evenings.

The DMF downlights are available with a myriad of trim finishes .. wide angle, wall wash, pinhole, adjustable .. over 10 options in all so we can tailor the trim to your needs, and best of all they can be installed in new and existing homes.
